Online collections

The Cambridgeshire Collection is currently based in Milton Road Library

The Palmer Clarke / Ramsey and Muspratt Collection

The photographic studio of J. Palmer Clarke, situated in Post Office Terrace, Cambridge, was in business from the 1890s to the 1930s. It was then taken over by Lettice Ramsey and Helen Muspratt, who continued in business until the 1970s, during which time they built up a national and international reputation as being the Cambridge photographers. More than quarter of a million negatives taken by these companies, many on fragile glass plates, are now held at the Cambridgeshire Collection in Cambridge. The FSB Scanning Bureau  is scanning these negatives, and some are now available online

US Airmen in Cambridgeshire

During the Second World War many members of the US forces were photographed in Cambridge, so that they could send prints back to their families back home, showing them happy and well. The surviving negatives are now held at the Cambridgeshire Collection in Cambridge. The FSB Scanning Bureau has scanned all 589 of these negatives, which are now available online
