How much reference material is held in larger (hub) libraries?

Answer:

In addition to the standard stock held in smaller venues, these libraries have more in-depth collections and are suitable for research and first referral with homework, study and research material normally up to and including A level. Stock includes:

Reference books
- business directories
- education directories
- postcode directories
- Ordnance Survey Landranger series 1:50000 series
- access to all UK phone book information
- road atlases
- statistics
- accommodation and travel guides
- film, music and sports guides

Telephone directories
A complete sets of UK white and yellow pages

Maps
National set of OS 1:50000 plus local maps at larger scales

Cambridgeshire GIS (Geographical Information System) is accessible from all libraries. Please note conditions of use

Local Authority papers
Full Cambridgeshire County Council minutes, committee proceedings, reports
- Local District/City and Parish minutes and  publications
- Local Health and utility authority reports
- Planning applications
- Police reports and road accident reports
- Information on local and county services

These are kept for at least one year

Online resources
All libraries have computers with free access to the Internet for searching.  Our Internet Gateway contains hundreds of recommended, quality websites 

We also subscribe to a selection of online resources on your behalf.  These have been specially selected to add breadth to the sometimes limited resources on the shelves
