Community Legal Advice (CLA)
This service has been set up by the government to ensure that people can get information and help about their legal rights and understand how to enforce them in the right place and at the right time.
Cambridgeshire library service is one of the partner organisations within the CLA and has been awarded the Quality Mark Information Standard by the Legal Services Commission. The aim of the Quality Mark Scheme is to provide a national network of quality assessed providers of legal information in order to improve people's access to the law.
The Information Standard is divided into two levels:
- Self-Help and Assisted
- All library service points have been awarded the Quality Mark at the Self-Help Level and have a series of leaflets on key topics
- Cambridge Central Library has been awarded the Assisted Level standard and acts as the referral point for all libraries.
