Your Library PIN

What is a PIN?

A library PIN is an extra identification number. You will need one for:

  • Issuing items from self-service kiosks in the library
  • Internet access in the library
  • Accessing the library catalogue from home to renew or request
  • Accessing library online resources from home

How do I get a PIN?

New library members will automatically be given a PIN but if you already have a library membership card there are three ways to get one:

  • Ask at any library, please make sure you have your library card with you for identification
  • Telephone 0345 045 5225 and give them your details, including your library membership card number
  • Request a PIN using our online form

Please note that under the terms of the Data Protection Act we can provide a PIN only to the named holder of a library card. The only exception to this ruling is that we can provide the PIN for a child under the age of 12 to his/her parent or guardian.

How do I change my PIN?

If you would like to change your PIN to the number of your choice there are three ways to do this:

  • Ask at any library (please make sure you have your library membership card with you for identification)
  • Telephone 0345 045 5225 and give them your details, including your library membership card number
  • Fill in the online form on our library catalogue
