Borrowing

You can borrow books, music scores and a wide variety of audio-visual items from any Cambridgeshire library. Our online catalogue has details of our stock. Smaller libraries do not stock all formats but you can request any item for delivery at your local library.

  • With your full library membership you can borrow up to 12 items, and two items if you have only an introductory membership
  • All items can be returned to any Cambridgeshire library, with the exception of inter-library loans and music score sets.

You can borrow the following items from our stock:

Books

  • standard and large-print formats
  • free loan
  • three-week loan period
  • can be renewed up to three times, unless requested by another customer

Audio books

  • in various formats: CD, tape cassette and MP3 (Central Library, Cambridge only)
  • borrowing charges apply
  • three-week loan period
  • can be renewed up to three times, unless requested by another customer. Each renewal will incur an additional borrowing charge. 

Audio-visual

  • DVDs, Blu-Ray, music CDs
  • borrowing charges apply
  • up to 1 week loan period
  • can be renewed up to three times unless requested by another customer. Each renewal will incur an additional borrowing charge.

Please note that overdue charges apply for late renewal or return of all items. It is the borrower's responsibility to ensure that items are returned or renewed on time.
