About the Cromwell Museum
Charitable Trust to take over the running of the Cromwell Museum
A new charitable trust is being set up to take over the running of the Cromwell Museum in Huntingdon from April 2016.
The creation of this new body provides a unique opportunity to reinvigorate this internationally significant museum by introducing fresh drive, ambition and energy, thereby making the museum sustainable for the future and ensuring that it fulfils its potential to become a place of exciting and vibrant audience engagement.
We are recruiting dedicated and ambitious individuals to become the first trustees who can offer expertise and skills in business administration, marketing, fund raising, volunteer engagement, business planning and the not-for-profit charity or trust sector.
In particular we are looking for an individual who, as chair, will bring effective leadership in order to create and articulate the mission and vision of the Cromwell Museum Trust.
The roles of chairs and trustees are unremunerated. These roles will, until 31 March 2016, be supported by the Council. The closing date for applications is Thursday 23 April 2015.

Charitable Incorporated Organisation
The County Council’s Highways and Community Infrastructure Committee has approved the creation of a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) to take over the running of the Cromwell Museum from April 2016.
County Council officers are now working to establish the trust. We expect to recruit and appoint trustees over the spring of 2015 and to apply to register the new CIO with the Charity Commission later in the year.
We will provide further progress updates on this when necessary.
