Services for visitors with disabilities
The Museum is committed to making its collections and services available to all regardless of any disability that visitors may have. Services at the moment include:
· Wheelchair accessibility. The Museum has ramped access from Grammar School Walk and once inside all areas are on one level. The doorway to the building, which is listed as of historic importance, is narrow but within the design limits for chair access. If you have a particularly wide chair (over 710mm) please contact us prior to your visit to ensure that your needs are met.
· The exhibition text is available in a folder in large print, together with the object labels.
· Chairs are available if visitors need to rest for a short while.
· The Museum would like to discuss with you any needs that you may have as a consequence of a physical or mental impairment that you consider the Museum should be able to assist you with.
