Statistics about Museums in Cambridgeshire

From the most recent benchmarking exercise of museums in Cambridgeshire, drawing on data for 2010-2011 the following statements can be drawn:

  • Museums in Cambridgeshire had over one and a quarter million visitors in one year (1,276,629)
  • Of these over 85,000 were visits by school age children in organised groups (86,069)
  • The number of  additional school age children that took part in outreach activities was nearly 7,500 (7492) 
  • The number of adults that took part in outreach activities was over 7,500 (7506)
  • There were over 100,000 volunteer hours in museums (102,903) and 2,408 volunteers
