Volunteering

Most museums in Cambridgeshire have volunteers working for them – indeed some museums are wholly voluntary and employ no paid staff at all. The range of possible voluntary work spans a wide range from working as a receptionist to helping to conserve collections. Most museums need volunteers with specific skills such as computing , engineering or cataloguing. For most museums a volunteer who can make a long term commitment is specially valued.

If you think that you might like to offer some of your time and possibly relevant experience from elsewhere then do contact the museum where you might like to consider helping. If you are in doubt as to which museum might be most appropriate please do ask the Museums Office for some guidance.
