Walk the World, the second major commission by London 2012 Cultural Olympiad campaign - Discovering Places, is asking everyone in the UK to join in the race to find local connections to all of the 206 Nations taking part in the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games by the start of the Opening Ceremony.
Delivered in partnership by the Royal Geographical Society (with IBG), Walk the World is an easy and exciting way to participate in the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games, no matter where you live.
At Walk the World you can find and share names, place names, memorial plaques, buildings and spaces that reveal how the 206 Nations and their people have helped to shape every aspect of our environment. Explore further by downloading and setting off on specially created walks throughout the UK, or create your own bespoke 206 Nation walk to share with others.
Gold Challenge is a unique new charity challenge where you can test yourself in five, ten, twenty or thirty Olympic and Paralympic Sports by the end of 2012. You can take part in Gold Challenge as an individual or as part of a team challenge each taking on your chosen Olympic and Paralympic sports. Gold Challenge gives you the choice of over 100 charities to fundraise for whilst completing your charity challenge. Get your friends and family to sponsor you to take on new sports or really push your boundaries and do an endurance event such as a marathon or a triatholon. So choose your challenge and choose your cause!

The Games and Beyond, a Sport England led initiative, aims to turn Olympic and Paralympic spectators into sporting participants. The website is open to everyone and packed full of need to know information, exciting Games news and guides to help people take part in each sport.
Next summer hundreds of the world's best athletes will descend on London for the greatest sporting show on earth, and The Games and Beyond will help people prepare for this marvellous spectacle.
The Games and Beyond is part of Sport England's London 2012 legacy programme which aims to build on the excitement of a home Olympic and Paralympic Games to increase sporting participation across the country.
