Volunteering

Volunteering at Events has been developed by Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Volunteer Centres. It aims to inspire volunteers to get involved in local sports and cultural or community events across the county.  You can get involved now in one of the many volunteering opportunities in your local area by connecting to Volunteering Cambridgeshire and Peterborough

The Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Olympic Volunteering strategy has four main themes:

  • To ensure that everyone in Cambridgeshire and Peterborough who has been inspired to volunteer by the London 2012 Olympics and Paralympics has the opportunity to do so.
  • To work with sports, arts, culture and the environment organisations to help develop Olympics-inspired voluntary opportunities and to increase the range of voluntary opportunities on offer to Cambridgeshire and Peterborough volunteers.
  • To ensure organisations that involve volunteers adopt good practice in volunteer management so that all volunteers in Cambridgeshire and Peterborough have the best volunteering experience and continue to volunteer after 2012.
  • To ensure that Volunteer Centres in Cambridgeshire and Peterborough have the capacity to deliver quality services which cope with the increase in interest in volunteering before, during and after the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
