Cambridgeshire Civil Protection Team (CCPT) is responsible for co-ordinating the Local Authority response to a major incident. Funded by both County and District local authorities it consists of seven Civil Protection Officers who assure a 'round-the-clock' response service in the event of emergencies.
Located in the Emergency Centre at Shire Hall the team works with and assists the District Councils (and, if requested, Peterborough City Council) in their response to an emergency in their area.
Over the years the team has provided local authorities with support in many major incidents including severe weather, fuel crisis and evacuations following the discovery of explosive devices.
