Reducing crime and disorder in the county
Under the Crime & Disorder Act 1998 a duty was placed on all Crime & Disorder Reduction Partnerships (CDRPs) to produce a strategy for reducing crime and disorder in their area every three years.
The 2005-08 Community Safety Strategies have been written by each of the district CDRPs. The strategies have been developed to reflect the local priority areas highlighted in the Crime and Disorder Audits.
Each strategy summarises the Audit findings and explains how the priority areas were identified. They then go on to present the objectives for each priority area and the three-year targets that have been set to measure our achievements. Finally they outline the mechanisms through which the strategy will be delivered.
