Major emergency incidents will inevitably occur from time to time and they can have a huge effect on people's lives. However, by planning it is possible to reduce the chances of one happening, and lessen the impact it may have.
The Cambridgeshire Emergency Management Team works to ensure that the most effective arrangements are in place to protect the citizens of Cambridgeshire and their property should a serious event occur that disrupts, or has the potential to, the Community in any way.
The team provides a 24/7 response provision all year round and works closely with the emergency services and other partners to provide an effective and successful response to major emergencies.
In addition to its emergency planning responsibilities the team also provides advice and assistance on Business Continuity Planning within the County Council and to private companies.
