National Pandemic Flu Service
On Thursday 11 February 2010 the National Flu Pandemic Service stopped offering the assessment service via telephone and the website.
Patients who think they may have symptoms of swine flu will be asked to telephone their GP surgery for advice. If it is thought appropriate they will be given a ‘Flu voucher’ for antiviral, which will be dispensed from an Antiviral Collection Points (ACPs).
Swine flu vaccination programme
In June 2009 the Department of Health announced that it had signed contracts to secure enough pandemic specific vaccine for the whole population. The vaccines have now been authorised by the European Medical Agency.
The first phase of the vaccination programme will be focused on priority groups before a full vaccination programme is undertaken.

Pandemic Flu Service launched
The National Flu Pandemic Service telephone hotline 0800 1 513 513 and website were launched so patients can obtain treatment without a GP's prescription. For more information, see National Flu Pandemic Service link under External links' on the right.
Assessment and Collection Points
Assessment and Collection Points are those places where anti-virals can be collected by a "flu friend".
The first Assessment and Collection Point is due to open in Cambridgeshire on monday 6 July in Cambridge.
We have also established four Assessment and Collection Points in Peterborough.
