Youth Rehabilitation Orders (YRO)

A YRO is a sentence for young people that could last anywhere between one and three years.  Depending on the offence and the needs of the offender, there are a variety of possible requirements which the court could order as part of the YRO.

  • Attendance Centre
  • Curfew
  • Drug testing
  • Drug treatment
  • Education
  • Intensive Supervision and Surveillance
  • Intoxicating substance treatment
  • Local Authority residence
  • Mental health treatment
  • Residence
  • Specified activity or programme or specified prohibited activity
  • Supervision
  • Unpaid work
