Qualifying for services
How we ensure services are given to those who are in greatest need.
Social care services are responsible for arranging a wide range of care services.
Demand for services is always heavy and we don't have the resources to meet them all.
Some way has to be found of making sure the services which can be provided are given to the people with the greatest need.
"Eligibility Criteria" are what we use to work out whether people's needs are great enough for us to provide them with services.
The Assessment process will have identified the person's individual care needs; a standard chart is then used to calculate the levels of those needs.

Even if you are not eligible for services we will offer advice on where you might be able to find help.
