Frequently Asked Questions

Question:

I'm a carer; what kind of help could be available to me?

Answer:

Everyone needs a break and to have time for themselves, even if it's just an hour, or a day or a week. This is especially so for carers and even more so if the person being cared for cannot be left alone.

Breaks from caring:

  • are not an admission of failure or saying you don't care,
  • are a sensible thing to do if you want to carry on caring,
  • may prevent you becoming exhausted or unwell,
  • will give the person you care for a break,
  • will help you and the person for whom you care plan for times when you might be unable to care
  • might give you a chance to do something completely different and refreshing

There are many ways in which a break can be arranged.  Why not contact one of our Carers Project Managers to see what can be done for you?
