The aim of the Childrens Fund in Cambridgeshire is to contribute to positive outcomes for our county's children and young people.
This review examines the activities and achievements of the Cambridgeshire Children’s Fund from 2003 to 2007. It shows what has been learnt about the design, and delivery of effective preventative services for children and families supported by Children's Fund projects.
Children’s Fund projects have demonstrated how they have been effective in building children’s social and emotional resilience and supporting families in breaking the cycle of antisocial behaviour and social exclusion. The Voluntary and Community Sector has been key to this success reaching and responding to marginalised families opening doors to other services and supports.
The review concludes that lasting change is not attributable to any single factor or service but to the connectedness of services planning and making decision with children, young people and their families.
