Automatic criteria:

You will automatically be entitled to a blue badge if you:

• are getting the higher rate of the mobility component of DLA; or
• are registered blind (not partially sighted); or
• use a vehicle supplied by the Department of Health, Scottish Home and Health Department or the Welsh Office; or
• are in receipt of a government grant towards your own vehicle; or
• are in receipt of a war pensioner's mobility supplement; or
• have a severe disability in both upper limbs which may impede the operation of parking meters and pay and display machines.

 
You may be asked to provide the necessary supporting evidence (e.g. proof of receipt of benefits, confirmation of your disability by your GP) at the time you apply for the badge.

Discretionary criteria:

If you do not meet one of the criteria above, you may still be able to get a blue badge under the discretionary criteria. To apply under the discretionary criteria you must:

• have a permanent and substantial disability, which causes inability to walk, or very considerable difficulty in walking;
• have a physical or degenerative disease or be terminally ill.

Cambridgeshire can only issue disabled parking badges to residents of Cambridgeshire.  If you live in another county you must apply to that council for your disabled parking badges.  Please see links to neighbouring  councils on right.

In Cambridgeshire the administration charge towards the cost of issuing a Blue Badge is £2.
