Registering as deaf or hard of hearing
People who have severe hearing difficulties may wish to register as deaf with the Sensory Services Team. Registering as a deaf person entitles you to benefits including: concessionary rail travel.
Your GP or the Audiologist (a doctor who specialises in hearing loss) at your local hospital will be able to tell you the specifics of your hearing loss. This will enable us to ensure that we give you the right registration category. If you have not seen an audiologist, please contact your GP for a referral to your hospital.
