Who can help if you have a sensory impairment?
The Sensory Services Team in Cambridgeshire work with adults of all ages who are:
- deaf / blind
- deaf
- deafened
- hard of hearing
- registered blind
- partially sighted or experiencing significant visual loss
What do we do?
We can offer advice and information covering a wide range of issues surrounding sensory loss. Once you have been referred to a sensory worker the team will offer an assessment of your abilities and social care needs. If eligible we will work with you to decide which services / equipment will meet your needs.
We also offer support to families and carers and can provide a separate assessment to carers of disabled people.
Additional Services
If you need services that are provided by other teams in Adult Support Services (eg personal care or day activities) we will work together to give you a joint assessment. This
means that all of your abilities and social care needs will be taken into consideration.
We can also refer you to a range of specialist agencies who may be able to offer further support and advice specifically focused on your needs or those of your relatives or carer.
