The role of the Learning Disability Partnership Board is to:
- agree the overall plans (strategy)
- decide on what is most important (priorities) to make Valuing People happen in Cambridgeshire. This will include budget issues; future needs; service pressures and agree new funding priorities
- check how things are going (monitor progress), receive regular reports on developments and each area
- make sure service users, carers, local voluntary sector and independent providers are fully involved and represented on developments
- agree reports / issues to be presented to the Cambridgeshire Care Partnership and Adult Taks Group. (These groups check services for older people, mental health and other disabilities too.)
- make sure plans link to other agencies priorities for example through the Local Strategic Partnerships.
The Learning Disability Partnership (LDP) Board also looks at all of the services the Learning Disability Partnership provides. The Board has service users, carers and representatives from voluntary and independent organsiations on it. It receives reports on how the LDP and the services are progresing and agrees the work plan / priorities for the year. The Valuing People Implementation Groups are local groups with a similar role but very focussed on their local area.
