Good services need good staff ...

How the Learning Disability Partnership recruits, trains and keeps good quality staff

Making sure the staff working with people with learning disabilities, in any agency, and in any job, are of good quality is very important.  It is also important that they have fair and equal access to opportunities for training and personal development.

The Learning Disability Partnership has produced a plan which sets out how it intends to develop its workforce.

The job of the Workforce Development Team is to:

  • find the resources to meet needs
  • give good advice to staff on appropriate training
  • develop training opportunities to meet the needs of staff
  • enable health colleagues to access the range of health resources that support professional development
  • enable social care colleagues to access social services training to support professional development
  • enable colleagues working in the independent sector to access a wide range of training and development opportunities offered by the Learning Disability Partnership Training Consortium

Please see our Learning Disability Partnership Training Directory "The Blue Book" (link on right hand side of this page)  for details of training and development opportunities available.
