Specialist health and social care services for people with Learning Disabilities in Cambridgeshire are managed by the Cambridgeshire Learning Disability Partnership (LDP) however many of the services are provided by other organisations.
The LDP use a number of different ways to make sure that the quality of these services is good. These include:
- LDP Board and Valuing People Implementation Groups
- Person Centre approach to assessment and care plans and reviews
- Advocacy
- User and Carer involvement
- Workforce development - recruitment and training
- Service Specifications and Contract Monitoring
- Performance Indicators and audits
- Complaints and comments process - there are leaflets explaining how someone can make a complaint, Sometimes a complaint is dealt with quickly and people are happy with the explanation and result. Sometimes a complaint is not sorted out easily and it becomes more serious
- Patient Advice and Liaison Service (PALS) PALS is the way that health service enables service users to raise concerns. Hospitals and Mental Health Trusts have PALS to provide advice and information.
