Discover a unique way to learn about the Mental Capacity Act!
The Mental Capacity Act (MCA) e-learning package is a new interactive resource that guides you through the Mental Capacity Act and helps you to understand how the MCA can be applied in a social or health care setting.
The easy to use resource has been developed to keep you up-to-date on how the Mental Capacity Act has changed practice, and the processes and protocols that should be used when carrying out mental capacity assessments or making decisions on behalf of someone.
The e-learning tool also provides information about advance decisions to refuse treatment (where an individual appoints a person to make decisions for them in the event that they lack the mental capacity to make a decision about their medical treatment) and Powers of Attorney.
The E-Learning Package is for use by health and social care workers who operate within the Cambridgeshire area. This includes:
- Individuals working or training within health and
social care.
- Care workers within a Cambridgeshire
registered residential care home.
- A carer or service user in Cambridgeshire (via
your carer support team or the agency
providing your care).
- Employees from other relevant agencies (such
as police, housing providers, fire services,
district councils).
To use the e-learning package, please register your details by filling out the application form attached on the left hand side under publications. Please send all completed forms to Aji Pappachen, Training Adminstrator, by e-mailing: Aji.pappachen@cambridgeshire.gov.uk
