Training Courses

MCA Level 1 - Half Day
Aimed at all interested staff across Health & Social Care.

MCA Level 2 - One Day

Aimed at front line staff who are required to complete more formal assessments of capacity and their line managers. Participants are not required to have completed a MCA Level 1 course, though previous understanding of the MCA will be an advantage.

MCA Level 2 (for Care Provider Services) - One Day
Aimed at senior care staff within non-statutory care providers such as residential care homes, domiciliary care and supported housing.

MCA Update for Managers - Half Day

Aimed at managers whose team and service staff will be undertaking capacity assessments.

Mental Capacity Act and Safeguarding Vulnerable Adults - One Day
This course is intended for adult safeguarding Lead Practitioners and senior front line workers.

MCA & Hospital Discharge - One Day
This course is intended for decision makers who work within, or have contact with, hospital discharge arrangements.

MCA Refresher - Half Day
This course is intended for participants who have previously attended an in-depth or capacity assessment course and wish to refresh their practice understanding of the MCA. It is recommended that participants refresh their practice understanding of the MCA on a 12 to 18 month basis.

Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards(DOLS) Level 1-Half Day
Awareness sessions are aimed at front line care and support staff from care homes or hospitals such as care assistants or health care assistants.

DOLS Level 2 - One Day
The course is intended for senior staff in care homes or hospitals including registered managers and their equivalents. It is also suitable for lead operational staff (social workers, care managers occupational therapists and other) who may come into contact with care homes and hospital wards.

MCA E-Learning
This works as a useful refresher and introduction to the MCA and complements our other training.
