... problems arising from incontinence

People who are having daily difficulty with laundry due to continence problems should, in the first instance, contact their GP who will arrange a referral if appropriate.

Help with laundry may be obtained via independent domiciliary care agencies - for a list of such agencies contact the Commission for Social Care Inspection or use their on-line "Find a Service" facility.

Laundry issues arising from incontinence may also be a qualifying factor for obtaining various welfare benefits, which would alleviate costs arising increased laundry bills.  Organisations such as Disability Cambridgeshire or Disability Information Services Huntingdon (DISH) would be able to give advice on applying for such benefits

People who have some problem with bladder or bowel control in their adult lives may benefit from continence advice and information on continence-related topics.

The Continence Advisory Service (in Kings Lynn) on 01553 816381 serves Fenland.

In Contact (previously known as the Continance Foundation) is a charity offering advice on bladder and bowel dysfunction. They can be contacted by telephoning: 0870 770 3246. Further information is also available from the right hand link.
