For people who are old or disabled keeping their garden tidy can sometimes become a problem. Each of the District Council areas in Cambridgeshire offer assistance to their tenants in different ways:
Cambridge City Council run a Garden Aid scheme (01223 458215) in support of elderly and/or disabled people. Eligibility is restricted to Cambridge residents who receive disability benefits.

Fenland District Council have a garden maintenance scheme for elderly or disabled tenants. Telephone: 01354 654321
Huntingdonshire Housing Partnership (Luminus) tenants who are elderly or disabled and as a result are unable to maintain thier gardens should request assistance with garden upkeep. Telephone; 01480 428777
South Cambridgeshire - for those over 60 a Garden Welfare Scheme is available to those who meet their eligibility criteria. Telephone: 08450 450 051
Age Concern offer help with gardening.
If you've got green fingers yourself you can get information about special tools, garden design, etc from the "Carry on Gardening" Website that aims to give you answers so that you can find your way to easier gardening.
