Changing business models

This chapter looks at the changes you might need to make to your business following the introduction of Self-Directed Support and the personalisation of Adult Social Care. It includes topics looking at:

Workshops

If you have a staff meeting, training day or network event and would like someone to come and talk about Self-Directed Support, Personalisation, and what's happening in Cambridgeshire, we will be pleased to discuss the possibility of a visit with you.  Email the Transformation Team.

You can also download copies of two presentations from a workshop that formed part of the launch of this Toolkit and which was delivered by Business Link, the Opportunities Trust and the County Council in 2009 (see below).

Self-assessment tools for providers

Our SDS Self-Assessment Tool is designed to help you to understand some of the opportunities available to you and also to illustrate some of the implications of personalisation on your business. It identifies four elements for change and asks you some key questions that you should be considering when developing your service provision. Download the document below.

SCIE provide an online resource called Getting Personal: Measuring Provider's Progress towards Personalisation which you can find on their website.

The Think Local, Act Personal website includes a Provider Blueprint which shows how organisations can work in person-centred ways to deliver personalised services, including providing support to people who have Personal Budgets.

A practitioner's guide Personalisation and Dementia can be found on the Dementia Choices website.
