Access Protection Markings

Access Protection Markings, also referred to as 'H' markings, are not associated with traffic regulation orders as they are advisory road markings only. However, in Cambridge City, where enforcement of parking regulations is carried out by Civil Enforcement Officers, they can also enforce contraventions when the dropped crossing is marked with a white Access Protection Marking.

Please note that having an Access Protection Marking installed does not give you permission to park on it. Anyone blocking or parking in front of a vehicular access crossing is ‘Obstructing the Highway’ and liable to prosecution by the Police.

Below under publications you will find an information leaflet which explains the process through which Access Protection Markings are approved and some background information.

You can also find an application form for an Access Potection Marking under publications below.
