For Car Schemes
The attached document below titled CCS1 Guidance Notes discusses how a car scheme can operate, and aims to answer some common queries such as insurance issues and reimbursement of out-of-pocket expenses. The remaining documents CCS2 through to CCS4 are supporting forms which are referred to in CCS1.
These documents are intended for use by existing volunteer-run community car schemes throughout Cambridgeshire, but can also be read by those considering setting up new schemes alongside CCS5.
For Minibuses
Cambridgeshire County Council can issue Section 19 minibus permits to community-based groups with a minibus, or not-for-profit organisations wishing to hire a minibus, and who wish to charge the passengers to recoup the running costs of the vehicle.
To apply for a permit, please download a copy of the form below. Please note that Cambridgeshire County Council charges £5.00 per permit issued.
For further advice on how to operate a minibus under a Section 19 permit, please see guidance document PSV 385 on the VOSA website.
Please feel free to contact the Community Transport Officer at Cambridgeshire County Council for further advice on operating a car scheme or minibus for community use.
