Bicycles

Using your bicycle for leisure or travelling to and from school or work will get you out into the fresh air and will improve your health and fitness - what better way to keep fit as well as being kind to the environment?

These pages provide:

  • information about cycling in Cambridgeshire,
  • maps showing cycle paths and routes,
  • the County Council's policy on cycling,
  • and tips to stay safe on the road.

Why cycle?

  • To save time - it’s often the quickest way to get around the city.
  • It’s free - parking is free and easy.
  • It keeps you fit whilst you get from A to B – regular cyclists are as fit as a person 10 years younger and have a reduced risk of illnesses.
  • To enjoy the many green open spaces around the city - having to get around the odd cow is much more fun than being stuck in a traffic jam.
