Cambridgeshire is one of the best places in the country to cycle. It is relatively flat and has an extensive cycle route network for all ages and abilities to enjoy.

In 2008, Cambridge was awarded National Cycling Town status which will see £7.2 million spent on cycling improvements in Cambridge and its surrounding villages until March 2011.

The Cycle Cambridge programme includes: 

  • New cycle routes 
  • Improvements to existing cycling facilities 
  • Additional cycle parking 
  • Bikeability cycle training 
  • Cycling events and promotions

The funding provides a huge boost for cycling in Cambridgeshire and aims to encourage more bicycle journeys in the City, surrounding villages and new developments.
