On the way from Cambridge to Ickleton there are many things to see and places to visit:

• Nine Wells is a Local Nature Reserve and historical site, which contains several chalk springs.  It is 4 miles from Cambridge and 20 minutes by bike.
• Great Shelford is a popular village just 5 miles south of Cambridge and 25 minutes by bike.
• In the village of Stapleford the cycle route enters a particularly attractive secenery and crosses over the River Granta.  Stapleford lies 6 miles south of Cambridge and 30 minutes by bike.
• Sawston is the largest village in Cambridgeshire and has most of the amenities of a town.  It is 7.5 miles from Cambridge and 35 minutes by bike.
• Whittlesford Station is very well connected with cyclepaths and a train journey from Cambridge takes less than 10 minutes.
• The conservation village Hinxton is steeped in history and character with many listed buildings and a 17th Century Mill.  Hinxton is situated 11 miles from Cambridge and 55 minutes by bike.
• At the Wetlands Project a barren field has been transformed into a wetland area with a rich variety of flora and fauna.  It is at the Genome Campus in Hinxton, 11 miles south of Cambridge and 55 minutes by bike.
• The small attractive village of Ickleton has been a settlement since Roman times.  The village is 12 miles from Cambridge and 1 hour by bike.
