Busway services are operated by Stagecoach and Go Whippet. A Stagecoach ticket is only valid on a Stagecoach service; similarly Go Whippet tickets are only valid on Go Whippet services. The Busway Smartcard is the only ticket valid on both operators’ Busway services.
Stagecoach’s multi journey tickets are valid on the Busway services and their routes on normal roads.

Concessionary bus passes
Concessionary bus passes are accepted on buses running on The Busway. The terms and conditions of use are exactly the same as on other buses in the county. Information on concessionary bus passes can be found by clicking on the link on the right of the screen.
Purchasing a ticket for the Busway
- When commencing your journey from a stop along The Busway track you must purchase your ticket from the ticket machine before you board the bus.
- When buying your ticket you must decide if you are travelling with Stagecoach or Go Whippet as tickets cannot be transferred.
- When guided buses are on normal roads you can buy your ticket from the driver as you get on.
