Works at Hills Road bridge

Major road works that are part of the Cambridgeshire Guided Busway project started on Hills Road bridge in Cambridge on 12 May 2008 and are planned to last until summer 2009.

New temporary bus lanes and changes to both junctions on either side of the bridge will be put in place to help traffic flow during the construction period.

For most of the time, the road will be restricted to one lane in each direction with both footpaths kept open.

However, there will also be three phases when only one lane for traffic is open on the bridge and temporary traffic signals will be used to control traffic. This will only take place in off-peak periods.

You can find more details about these works, the junction changes and the new bus lanes on the left hand navigation.

You can also download the information leaflet at the right or telephone 0845 045 5213 for a hardcopy.
