Skip permits

The purpose of a skip permit

Permits are required so that applications for builder's skips to be placed on the public highway comply with the requirements of legislation. Please read our Skip permit conditions (101Kb) for more information.

Permits are also needed to ensure that skips do not block access to property or apparatus within the highway, reduce highway widths to an unacceptable extent or restrict visibility at junctions, accesses and crossing points.

Skips are not allowed where waiting restrictions (yellow lines) are in place.  Skips may be permitted in resident permit holder bays or pay and display bays.  Additional charges are payable if a skip is placed in a pay and display bay.
