Street works notifications
To notify the Street Works Team of your work and book road space complete the booking road space form (34Kb).
It is important that accurate descriptions and grid references are given.
Temporary traffic lights
To use temporary traffic lights for road works or an event please complete the Temporary traffic light form (18Kb) and return it to the Street Works Team.
Temporary traffic regulation orders (TTRO)
TTROs are required to close a road, reduce a speed limit or overturn any other traffic regulation order (TRO) for a temporary period and for safety reasons during road works. The standard cost of obtaining such an order from Cambridgeshire County Council's Environment Services is £858.50. To ask for a TTRO complete the TTRO application form (142Kb) and return it to the team.
Street works licences
Street Works licences are required by persons wishing to place or retain apparatus, such as sewer connection pipes, in the public highway. Cambridgeshire County Council charges £414.10 per licence for the first 200 metres plus £100 for additional 200 metres thereafter. Please complete the street works licence application form (251Kb) and return it to the Street Works Team accompanied by a cheque for the full amount payable.
Tower crane licence
Please complete the tower crane application form (95Kb) to apply for a licence to erect a tower crane and return to the Street Works Team.
Working on the road
Parish Councils and members of the public wishing to work on the road, for example, by putting up permanent signs or putting in new sewerage pipes, should read Working on the highway (138Kb) for help and advice.
Events on the road
If you wish to hold an event such as a street party, fete, carnival or similar event where members of the public will gather in the street, it may be necessary to close the road to through traffic.

Banners
A banner licence is needed to erect banners over the highway to publicise charitable or community events. Please complete the Banner application form (172Kb) and return it to the Street Works team.
