The County Council currently maintain approximately 320 traffic signal installations including over 120 junctions.

The County Council operates and maintains an Urban Traffic Control System connected to over 60 installations mostly in Cambridge but also around Huntingdon ring road. This system not only controls the system but also monmitors them for faults.

In addition, two remote monitoring systems enable on line monitoring and automatic fault reporting on 70 other installations in the County.

In the County the response time for replacing faulty red lamps is within 2 hours and for other lamps by the end of the next working day.

Installations which are all out will be repaired within 24 hours except for electric cable faults.

The electricity supplier undertakes to attend to identify a power supply fault at traffic signals within three hours of notification. The time to restore the supply will depend on the amount of work involved.
