Minor works funding opportunities

We welcome groups or individuals who want to improve their local roads and streets for their community, and who are able to share the funding for new infrastructure. We are here to help you through the process of applying for minor works, and the Council is making a budget available for applications from local communities who would like to take a shared approach to improve their local roads and streets.

This new approach is giving local people a real influence over minor highway improvements in their community. Successful projects will be those providing improvements considered to be of real benefit to the local community. For example, better signing and lining, pedestrian improvements or parking controls.

Who can apply for the funding?

District, town and parish councils, community and residents' groups, and charities are all eligible.

How do I apply for the funding?

You can apply using the application form below.

Applications should be submitted before the 21st December, 2012.

Applicants can seek up to £10,000 as a contribution to their projects, which could include minor improvements for as little as £500. The expectation is that the applicant will provide 10% or more of the overall cost of their project.  We have provided a guide price list to help you in your decision-making, although this is a guide to prices only.

What happens next?

Applications will be assessed later in the New Year by an advisory panel of county councillors for each district area of Cambridgeshire. The panels will take into account the views of parish councils and district councillors before making recommendations to the County Council on allocating the funding.
