The relevant highway authority, whether it is Cambridgeshire County Council, Peterborough City Council or the Highways Agency, will need to be consulted with when holding an event which may effect the highway.
They also hold the remit for granting road closure orders for planned events. The Police do not have powers to close roads, except in the case of an emergency, and planned events do not fall into this remit.
To find out who the relevant highway authority is, please use this map (PDF - 93KB).
If your relevant highways authority is Cambridgeshire County Council please complete the Event notification form and return it to the Traffic Manager's Team (details on the form).
If your event will require you to close or change the use of a road, please complete the Temporary traffic order for events form and return it to the Street Works Co-ordinator.
To ensure that the event is organised safely, the highway authority and the Police must always be notified to ensure that the necessary road safety measures are in place and that the event causes the least disruption to people using the area.
