Cambridgeshire County Council is a partner in the Cambridgeshire Freight Guality Partnership and works jointly with the other members when considering HCV's use of the County's roads.
Forward with Freight
By using the CFQP, we can ensure that solutions are achieved through a tri-party consensus of Community, Hauliers and Local Goverment. By adopting this approach Cambridgeshire, like over 140 other authorities around the Country will work to ensure that its economy can be sustained and any adverse effects on the environment, minimised.
Quantifying Problems
The CFQP has identified the following areas of work as its first priorities:
• The development of a County HCV Route Map
• Community Involvement in HCV control. (Lorry Watch Scheme)
• Secure overnight parking and rest and refreshment facilities.
• Education
Partnership Approach
Our current partners in the CFQP are:
• The Freight Transport Assosication
• The Road Haulage Association
• Cambridgeshire Constabulary
• Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue Services
• The Highways Agency
By utilising the specialist knowledge of each of our partners, the CFQP will have the best possible chance of success. Where considered necessary the CFQP will also invite other persons or organisations to join the partnership.
