What are Cambridge Transport Project's objectives?
One of our main objectives is to encourage people to use their cars less, by promoting other means of sustainable transport, and to improve the city centre environment for all.
For this reason, the Cambridge Transport Projects Team includes the City Centre Access Team (responsible for managing access into and within the city centre) and the Park and Ride Team (which manages the city-wide, award-winning Park and Ride service).
We believe that the 'carrot and stick' approach to traffic management (where good quality public transport alternatives are combined with traffic restraint and road closures) really is the way to protect and enhance the economy, vibrancy and environment of our historic city.
