What's happening?
Engineers are due to work over the next three weekends as part of a scheme to give St Andrew's Street a facelift as well as improving bus services and road safety in Cambridge.
The closure is necessary to replace the worn out road surface in St Andrew's Street and forms part of a wider scheme to improve facilities for public transport, passengers, pedestrians and cyclists.
When are they being carried out?
On Saturday 3rd May 2008 from midnight until 6am on Tuesday 6th May 2008 St Andrew's Street between the junction of Emmanue Street / Sidney Street / Hobson Street will be closed to all vehicle traffic to make sure resurfacing works are carried out as quickly and safely as possible.
There will also be closures on the weekend of the 10/11 May 2008 and 17/18 May 2008.
The junction is a major route for many bus services in the City and Cambridgeshire County Council has been working closely with the bus operators on temporary arrangements for the services affected. Posters will be displayed at the stops for further information.
