The new foot and cycle bridge has cost £3million.

The funds came from developers working in the area and from Communities and Local Government's Growth Area Fund.

2007

The main span of the bridge was lifted into place. 

Consultation on the traffic management measures on Riverside ended.


January 2008

Painting and finishing works on site. 

Construction of the footpath from the bridge to St Andrew’s Road. 

City and County Councillors vote to keep the road closure on Riverside as a permanent feature.

June
2008

The new bridge opened to the public on Thursday, 5 June 2008 at approximately midday.
