Phase 1
This will involve building a link between the Peterborough City Boundary on the A15 and Brunel Drive. The cycleway will then run along an existing cycleway through the Ferndale estate, along Daimler Avenue and then onto the Broadway. The route will then continue eastwards from Daimler Avenue on the north side of the Broadway to link with the Broadfields estate. The new cycleway will also include a link on the south side of the Broadway between Lansdowne Road and Middletons Road and the upgrading of existing signal crossing points to cycle friendly facilities. Phases 2 and 3 have now been completed.
Phase 2
This will be a continuation of the cycleway from the Broadfields estate, along the Broadway to Farcet. This phase should also include the provision of cycle friendly crossing facilities. This phase is currently in the planning application stage. (See Yaxley to Farcet Plan Map)
Phase 3
This will be completion of the cycleway from Daimler Drive west along Broadway to Manor Farm. This phase is at a stage for future development. (See Yaxley to Farcet Plan Map)
We are proposing to position the new shared use pedestrian/cycleway off road and will involve improving the existing footway.
The new shared use cycleway will join up with existing and proposed cycleways from Hampton, Peterborough and in the future it is anticipated that it will link with the proposed cycleway to Farcet.
