Road Closed sign

Work to commence 25th February 2008

Cambridgeshire Highways is about to implement an accident reduction scheme at the junction of Old Hurst Road (A141) and Bridge Road, Broughton.

EDF energy are carrying out some preliminary works to relocate a power cable, which is due to commence on the 25th February for approximately 5 days. Construction of the right turn facility is due to commence on 10th March 2008. The works are expected to last for 5 weeks, although the weather may have an effect on the final completion date.

During the works it will be necessary to close Bridge Road in order to reduce the risk associated with turning movements within the working area. A diversion route will be in place and will remain for the duration of the works.

The A141 will remain open but will be reduced to 1 lane controlled by temporary traffic signals. During the resurfacing element of the works a convoy vehicle enforcing a 10mph speed limit will be included. No works will be carried out during peak hours. (7.30 – 9.30am and 3.30 – 7.30pm)
