Cambridgeshire County Council is currently building a new Park and Ride site in Milton.  The new site is due to be completed later this year.

The current Cowley Road Park & Ride site lies inside one of the areas on the northern edge of Cambridge earmarked for development. This means a new site needed to be found in the area. This was also an opportunity to tackle congestion and offer much improved site facilities.

A public consultation on possible sites took place in June 2006. The most popular option to emerge from this consultation was the site just off the A10 near Milton, to the south of Butt Lane, which Councillors supported.

The County Council's contractor Jackson Civil Engineering has started construction of the new Park and Ride site in December 2007.

The new site will provide a high quality and attractive alternative to driving into and out of the city centre.
