Ironwork

The term ironwork used in highways maintenance means gulleys (drains), manholes, stop-tap covers, inspection chamber covers, etc.

All these products are manufactured to appropriate standards with regards to approved designs, dimensions and strength.

However, much of the ironwork in the road and path is the responsibility of others, such as water, gas, electric, telecom and cable television companies, some may even be owned by private householders.

If you wish to report a defective ironwork cover, please report it directly to the owner or company responsible.  If you are unsure who owns the apparatus please report the defect using the link on the right hand side.
