Slabbed footways will only be maintained in urban central areas, shopping streets and where the construction suits the environment of a conservation area, following the specific agreement of the Network Manager.
Other slabbed footways will be replaced with macadam, unless it can be demonstrated that the costs of such action will exceed that of minor relaying of slabs or the District Council funds the difference between macadam and slabs with the authorization of the Network Manager.
On slabbed footways, dangerously rocking slabs and trips over 20mm high should be repaired within 24 hours of report.
